Chris Rajendram is from Sri Lanka. During the civil war in the country that lasted 30 years, he left Sri Lanka to follow studies in Social Communication in Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. He was intoduced to Marshall Rosenberg, the founder of Nonviolent Communication movement, by Maria Mankien, then, secretary at the ‘Center for Nonviolent Communication’. “This acquaintance gave me a new vision of everything I was doing, in particular of my spiritual path,” Chris says, telling about his way to NVC. “I have discovered how to perceive my life and the lives of others in a different way, and since then I have been enjoying my study of Nonviolent Communication and the opportunity to share with others this process”. In 1996, he returned to Sri Lanka with Marshall and introduced NVC to the people in Sri Lanka who were in the middle of a war.
